City Farm Markets
City farm markets are generally seasonal in nature. These
events are usually staged in late summer or early fall. However, many
of these markets can be open for a longer period of time depending on
what produce is available.
The city farm markets are excellent ways to find fresh, organically
grown produce within a city landscape. For local farmers these events
are the best way to directly market their goods to the general public.
The direct interaction between the consumer and the farmer is often
considered the best thing about these open-air produce stores.
Summertime is not the only time to enjoy the city farm markets. During
winter months many of these produce vendors will offer meats, cheeses,
and other non-seasonal items. Local craftsmen and artists can also be
found selling their wares year-round.
